THOUGHT-BASED APPROACH
Support That Makes a Difference
ONLINE THERAPY
Online therapy allows the therapist to be available to those anywhere in California. This convenience offers the accessibility of therapy to individuals who live in remote, rural areas, those who may have medical conditions that may keep them home bound, as well as those who find it difficult to come into the office itself due to distance or schedules. Face to face web conferencing that is used is private, confidential, and user-friendly. Also known as telemedicine, this growing practice has been shown to be an effective treatment option lending convenience and flexibility for those struggling with depression, anxiety, and relationship problems.
ADULTS
You are a strong person, but have experienced things that have kept you from feeling like the strong person you were or you want to be. You have been through a lot and now you are ready to work on getting unstuck. Therapy can help eliminate or control troubling symptoms so a person can function better and can increase well-being and healing. It can be a key to help you in ways that can bring boldness, healing, and self-love. With the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy you will learn how to challenge and change unhelpful cognitive distortions and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and develop personal coping skills that will target current problems.
ANXIETY
Experiencing anxiety occasionally is a completely normal part of everyday life. It can come from a multitude of different avenues. Many people experience it much differently, it can be persistent, overwhelming, and even uncontrollable. In some instances it can be extremely disabling due to its irrational dread of everyday situations. If anxiety interferes with your daily life and daily activities you may have an anxiety disorder.
Research has shown Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to be an effective form of treatment for generalized anxiety, phobias, and social anxiety. Together we can work on a specialized plan to overcome the anxiety you are
experiencing and live the full life you were made to live. With my personalized approach of setting goals and, together, accomplishing them you will be on your way to a more productive and fulfilling life.
TRAUMA
Trauma causes lasting changes in regions of the brain that is responsible for regulating emotional responses. It can cause serious disruption in the ability to have healthy, satisfying relationships or the ability to tolerate life’s uncertainties without excess distress. Effective treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, and Mindfulness will address these brain dysfunctions and clients will experience a decrease in emotional reactivity, change thought patterns and increase the ability to function. Treatment for trauma can help an individual take control of their life.
RELATIONSHIP ISSUES
We were created for relationships and when things are not going well in our relationships it can be hard to accept and reach out for help. Finding a therapist that is a good fit for both of you can also be challenging.
Setting goals of what you would like to see different in the relationship, finding solutions to the problems you are struggling with and enhancing the strengths of the relationship are what can be experienced in therapy. Couples
become well-versed at handling issues whenever and wherever they arise.
FAITH LEADER
Individuals who find themselves in the role of pastor, church leader, ministry or community leader are no different than any other person. Once you look past the exterior, they are all human. They deal with the same emotions, fears, insecurities and challenges as anyone else. Life can throw many surprises at us, and while we cannot predict the outcome of any situation, we can take control of how we respond to certain situations. With the added pressure and responsibility to those we serve, leaders can find themselves dealing with depression, anxiety, and relational issues. In therapy, leaders can find a safe, confidential, non-biased place to process and work through stressors, pressures, and difficult relationship issues. Utilizing a faith based approach the leader will find the needed support to overcome these issues and be well-equiped to continue serving in their role. It is time for leaders to attend to their mental health needs and seek the care they need.
